French-English Dictionary of Medicine Third Edition, 2009, Now Available on CD The Book is in the following three sections: 1. Introduction: This section contains important information for use of the book. 1.1 Use of the Dictionary...covers the way the Dictionary was developed. 1.2 Searching pdf Files...contains specific instructions for searching the files. 1.3 Abbreviations and Signs Used...a list is provided and explained. 2. The Dictionary (Lexicon)...contains the French-English Dictionary. 3. The Glossary...contains the English-French Glossary Bookmarks The sections in the Book have been bookmarked to make searching for specific information and terms more efficient. These bookmarks open with the sections. Any word appearing in the sections may be searched.
What you need to know about the CD before making your purchase: The Dictionary Portfolio ("Book") is in a PDF Portfolio. To fully utilize a PDF Portfolio, the viewer will need Adobe® Reader® 9 or above. This Reader may be downloaded for free from the Adobe website at http://adobe.com/go/reader Adobe Reader 6, 7 and 8 will open the Dictionary Portfolio. However, only the basic documents (Introduction, Dictionary and Glossary) are presented. The added features seen in the portfolio require Adobe Reader 9 or later. When opened in version 8, the PDF Portfolio will act like a PDF Package. In version 6 and 7, the contents will appear as attachments. The second section on the CD is called Book 2. The three sections in Book 2— Introduction, Dictionary, and Glossary—are the same as in the Dictionary Portfolio. The Index to Dictionary provides an easy way to search the Dictionary (Lexicon). Adobe® Reader® 9 is not required to open the files in Book 2. The Introduction, Dictionary, and Glossary in Book 2 present the main sections of this Dictionary of Medicine in their original pdf files. If you do not have Adobe® Reader® 9, you may find it easier to simply use this version of the Dictionary of Medicine. Adobe Reader is also available for other operating systems such Macintosh, Linux. and Solaris at http://adobe.com/go/reader
